French Air Force Rafale on a Air Policy Mission above Switzerland

Swiss Air Force's Falcon 900EX (T-785) was forced to land in Payerne by an Rafale C of Armée de l'Air today. Coming from french airspace, the Rafale used this exercise in connection with the binational CBA (Cross Border Area). Swiss fighters can intercept and escort airliners to french airfields too. Switzerland has contracts with Germany (limited), Italy and France for this kind of use of those CBA's.

France uses the bases of Lorient/ Lann Bihoué (Navy), Mont-de-Marsan (BA118), Orange (BA115) and St. Dizier (BA113) for the PO (permanence opérationnelle, QRA).

This morning another rarity flew above Switzerland - German Navy's Dornier Do-228-212LM 57+04 (cn 8214/0214) as GNY4785 👍
