a short history of this website

All began on March 24th in 1998 withhin the Cape Canaveral-Section of geocities.com ! Coded by myself on HTML I tried to use as less space then possible to safe bandwith and for good results on the two main browsers Netscape and Explorer.

July 2001 saw an massive modernisation of the look and included the actual flight plannings and other news of the Swiss Air Force. Some news like the closing of the base Alpnach in 2007 seen here had not survived further political decisions but seen at all my homepage was number one in Google for actual news these years.

Beginning September 9th, 2001 - after visiting Hopsten Open Day in northern Germany - I've also found the biggest aviation forum in german language, the flugzeugforum.de. More and more time I used there for the upbuilding of the sections about the Swiss Air Force and the time shedule for Events and Airshows worldwide, the status as Mod facilities the things. And with the french language FLIR and Aviapic Forums we had a very good exchange of information in the french and german part of Switzerland the following years.

January 5th, 2010 saw the introduction of my new web presence, this time published as blog. Hosted by flightglobal, this history ended with the shutdown of this service. The Summary of closed and missed web services had quite some impacts on myself - missing my suisse.org-email adress, the fly.to-linkservice, Netscape Browser, Yahoo groups and many more. But Grimmi's site survives and will going on further - and it's presence can be watched on the waybackmachine 🙌
